i so intended on posting all about our meal planning, and the yummy new recipes i've integrated into our "back to school" lives.  but rather than take step-by-step photos and take time listing all the steps, we dug right in and ate all our food.
today we had omelets and pizza.  someday maybe i'll fill you in on how easy our meal times have become with my new meal plan.

Pinterest in July

Pinterest has really come through for me this summer.  as i've spent 5 weeks homebound with no driving and a double daily dose of pills that make my brain crazy, i've needed to get really creative to keep these kiddos busy.  Pinterest to the rescue.

yarn crafting.  this one was an awesome use of things i already had in the craft box:

finger paint in a ziplock.  yay!  no mess painting!
how to draw (insert various animals here).  the girls loved practicing some new techniques.

month one of no driving down, 2 to go!

girls + lots of time on my hands + Pinterest = hair experiments

since i have a lot of time on my hands lately, i have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest.  there are a million hair tutorials, and i am pretty lame with hair.  i figured since i have 3 girls, i should try to improve my skills.  i had the girls each choose a hair tutorial to try and we went for it.

Maddie chose the triple loop pony:

Avery chose a french-fishtail-braid-bun:

Anna chose a french braid bun:

not perfect, but we will keep practicing!

how to make the most of Pinterest: a Mother's day craft

one of my new goals is to start doing the things i see on Pinterst.  i started here, with a little Mother's Day craft i pinned here
we cut out the kids hands and they got to work decorating them for each Grandma.

for Grandma Colleen, we gathered them together in a pot with some flowers.  for Grandma Terri, we made a paper pot and sent them on their way.
Madeline got particularly creative and pasted her extra hearts onto a second card.  we love doing crafts, and making them for someone special is twice as nice.
meanwhile, i had a great breakfast delivered in bed, handmade expressions of love, and a brand spanking new Garmin!  best mother's day ever!
