so, it's been my experience now twice over, that baby weight just doesn't budge. my new approach to dealing with a post-baby body is to set a goal that is not related to the number on the scale. you may recall that back in may i participated in my first competitive sport since seventh grade, a 5k run. well, stepped up my game and competed in a sprint triathlon this weekend. that's right, i am a triathlete. funny if you've known me any length of time, even funnier - i loved it! i'm all geared up for another one in december. the whole experience from training to recovery had me thinking a whole lot about my body issues. specifically, how to overcome them. this is not a new line of thinking for me. therefore, i set up a new blog so as not to bore those of you who come here just to check in on the family and not to hear me talk girly. check it out if you feel like glimpsing another side of my reality.

That looks so fun!
I signed up for a 5k in malibu, but hurt my back and could not run, so I missed it. That sprint triathon looks so fun in Dec...I might just have to join you for that one!
Yeah...the blog banner looks cute...please don't feel obligated to use it! I am sure you can come up with something super cute too!

Nice job, Brit! I have yet to try the triathalon thing...I tend to stick to my comfort zone - running. Way to go, and hopefully we'll see you soon!
britain - what a small small world! thanks so much for visiting and commenting on my blog! i can't believe you've been reading and never said hi! it's kinda crazy... i've probably sent you more christmas cards than we've actually been together in person. your kids are so big! and i can't believe how dedicated you are. i would love to do a sprint tri- i've always thought they'd be fun. but i'm a TERRIBLE swimmer. i can handle running and biking. maybe i need to do a team one! i can't wait to check out your blog more often. jeff will be thrilled, he's always talking about you guys!
I am so proud of you!
